Sussex Coast Schools Alliance

As most will know the landscape for Teaching Schools is changing.  Sussex Coast Teaching School Alliance will change to Sussex Coast Schools Alliance (SCSA) from September 2021.

We will continue to work with our 39 Alliance Schools to further develop teachers, support succession planning and promote evidence informed practice.

We will continue to work with our partners at Durrington Research School and organisations across Sussex.

We will also be working with UCL Institute of Education to deliver the Early Career Framework and the new National Professional Qualifications.

Future Creators

SCSA is proud to partner with Future Creators to offer opportunities for children and young adults across the region.

Future Creators, formerly known as 'Our Future City', is a collective of organisations spanning the creative industries, local businesses, youth groups, schools, arts and heritage, health and social services. The initiative has re-launched with a new name and online resource – futurecreators.org.uk – to offer advice and support to develop the creative potential, skills and voices of young people.

Established in 2015 in Brighton & Hove, Future Creators was part of Art Council England's Cultural Education Challenge.  In 2019, the project expanded to include partners across Greater Brighton, Worthing & Adur, Crawley and East Sussex to work collaboratively to improve outcomes for children and young people across the region.

Schools Partnership Programme

SCSA have been working with the Education Development Trust to run the Schools Partnership Programme.  This is a cluster-based school improvement model based on rigorous and impact-focused peer review. The programme supports school leaders to drive their own improvement, through a continuous cycle of self-review, peer review and school-to-school support and improvement.

We currently have two cohorts running with a total of 23 schools involved.
