ECF: How the Programme is constructed
As with all national providers, the programme lasts for two years.
Year 1:
The first year is comprised of five modules:
- Enabling pupil learning
- Engaging pupils in learning
- Developing quality pedagogy
- Making productive use of assessment
- Fulfilling professional responsibilities
Year 2: This follows an inquiry approach based on the above modules where ECTs focus on specific areas of development based on their context and practice. This is done with the knowledge that the most effective professional development is when the focus is sharply on the pupils with whom the teachers are working with.
How the programme is delivered:
Year 1:
- Support of a school based mentor for weekly meetings (fully funded)
- Two facilitated sessions per half term working in a group with ECTs from other local schools. One session is online and the other delivered in person. These sessions provide opportunities for networking
- Access to all learning materials on UCLeXtend learning platform
Year 2:
- Support of a school based mentor for fortnightly meetings(fully funded)
- Five facilitated sessions over the school year
- Opportunities to complete two school visits
- Access to all learning materials on UCLeXtend learning platform
