Welcome to Goldstone Primary School

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Goldstone Primary School in September 2024! In order to assist you and your child with the transition to school, we have set up this page as an addition to our 'Welcome Pack', which you will receive when you bring in your documentation. 

IMPORTANT Documents!
To accept your child's place at Goldstone, please complete the REGISTRATION FORM and bring it to the school office with either your child's BIRTH CERTIFICATE or PASSPORT. We will then give you your welcome pack with further details of transition events. 

All documentation can be dropped at the school office from Tuesday 16th April and must be returned by Tuesday 30th April. You will then receive a 'welcome pack' with additional documents that need to be returned by the 7th May.

Events to look forward to....

New Reception Parents'Carers' Welcome Evening 
Tuesday 25th June 7pm-8.30pm

An essential evening to meet some of the staff and ask any questions you may have about our school or early years' education in general. You will receive your child's class welcome pack, which will include your child’s starting date, details about their new class and teaching staff.  The date and time of your 1:1 parent/carer consultation will be included. If you and your child are unable to make the allocated time and date, then please contact the school office who will be happy to change it for you.

Picnic in Hove Park 
Saturday 29th June 12noon - 1pm

Join us for a picnic at Hove Park, meet your child's class mates and the adults that will be caring for your child over the coming year. A great opportunity to meet other parents and carers. Bring a picnic!

Teddy Bears Picnic
Friday 5th July 10-11am

An opportunity for your child to get to know other children in their class. Your child is invited to bring their favourite soft toy to a light picnic in our outside area.  If the weather is unsuitable it will take place in our Infant Hall.  This is a great opportunity to meet their teacher and new class mates and explore their environment. Children need to be accompanied. You do not need to bring any food, light snacks will be provided.
 

Story Time With Their New Teacher
Wednesday 11th September 2pm-2.45pm

A chance for your child to spend some time with their new teacher. During the Story Time sessions, parents wait on the Infant playground, away from the children, to develop the children's independence. 

 

Wednesday 4th September - Tuesday 10th September Parent/Carer/Child 1:1consultations
You will be invited to attend a 20-minute consultation (details given in your class pack at the Welcome Evening) with your child. An opportunity for everyone to get to know easch other!
